Historische Informationen

Schönach –Pfarrkirche Maria Rosenkranzkönigin,  Neubarocker Bau, Plan entworfen vom Regensburger Architekt Heinrich Haubenrisser, erbaut in den Jahren 1921 bis 1927. Hochaltar im barocken Stil vom Regensburger Bildhauer Jakob Helmer. Altarbild des Kunstmalers Josef Weininger aus Reinhausen. Hier überreicht das Jesuskind auf dem Schoß der Gottesmutter den Rosenkranz an den Hl. Dominik, der begleitet ist von der Hl. Katharina v. Siena. Deckengemälde stellt die Seeschlacht von Lepanto dar, der Maler war Guntram Lautenbacher, Regensburg.
